TOPIC: Harmonics for Drive Topologies

Presentation Outline: 

Harmonics as related to different drive topologies, how the use of drives affects the distribution system in a building, and how to design to avoid problems.  A misconception in our industry is drive = harmonic distortion. Best drive practices.

 

Speaker Bio: 

After graduating from Clemson, Ned started his career in 1985 with Westinghouse in Charlotte in the Industrial Sales Group.  From 1987 until 1990 he worked at the Westinghouse Fayetteville, NC MCC plant and specialized in W/WW work.  From 1991 until 1994 Ned held an Industrial Sales assignment in Raleigh, serving industrial and institutional accounts in the eastern part of the state.  In August of 1994 Ned returned to Charlotte as District Application Specialist covering Virginia, NC, SC, Savannah, GA and Augusta, GA.  In 1999 his title was changed to District Application Engineer after he got his PE.  In 2006 Ned received his LEED AP credential.  In January 2016 he was promoted to Senior Application Engineer.
