TOPIC:

Variable Primary - Variable Secondary Hydronic Systems

BY: Patrick Leake

Topic Description:

Primary-Secondary pumping is a common pumping arrangement we see throughout the hydronic industry. In this presentation, we will look at varying the flow in both the primary and secondary piping.  By varying the flow in both the production and distribution loops we can eliminate return water temperatures, optimize pump energy savings, eliminate flow thru a boiler, and have true system efficiency staging of equipment.

Speaker Bio:

Patrick Leake, has over 22 years of Sales and Management experience with hydronic systems and equipment for commercial and industrial applications.

He graduated with a B.S. degree from Clemson University in 1995 and began working for James M. Pleasants Co. Inc. in that same year. Mr Leake is a member of ASHRAE, ASPE and USGBC.

Mr. Leake's main areas of interest are steam systems, chiller plants, high efficiency boilers, & green plumbing systems
